After recovering from the clean, hold the chest high and the elbows to the front. Then, quickly dip straight down about 6 inches, keeping the back vertical. Driving with the legs, quickly rebound up on the toes as the bar is thrust overhead. Split the legs to catch the weight in the receiving position. Bring both feet together, starting with the front leg.
It's important to dip for the jerk with the back in a vertical position with the hips tucked in, as in photo 2, otherwise the bar will shoot out to the front, and fall to the platform.
